For fun camp I really love “Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter” and “A Polish Vampire in Burbank”. Both low budget camp/comedies.

I agree, the points in this article are about clean energy, not the ability to continuously refresh a resource as you deplete it, however, to play devil’s advocate:
Wood, specifically, is not likely renewable at a sufficient rate. i.e. it is impossible to grow enough wood to meet any significant energy requirements. While it is technically renewable, if we treat it as such, we will deplete resources faster than we can replace them.
This is a silly argument I am making, and requires a narrow definition ignoring other bio-fuels which, while unproven at scale, would potentially remove CO2 from the atmosphere.
I honestly have never been into an apple store. Why would we want this?
The vagueness of this statement is pretty telling of the competence of these ‘founders’. Rich assholes who have a ‘vision’ and make people who actually work figure out what the fuck is going on.
Like the whole bumper sticker thing “I bought this before Elon went crazy”
How about a bumper sticker that says “this car is fully insured”.
I was thinking rainbow face paint with interesting paterns
Masks work too though.
Is that the type they put in turon? I love those things.
Kinda makes me think of Filipino spaghetti. Banana ketchup and hotdogs! Actually not as bad as it sounds.
I associate it with “The Space Merchants” and their corporate congress.
It’s a really good book written in 1952 and talks about climate change, rampant corporate greed, synthetic meat… Really good read.
I am bleeding, making me the victor
holy crap there is a starlink alternative? Do they work in the US? I would love high speed internet at my house but Im in the sticks I get the most attenuated DSL signal allowed. Last I looked into starlink there was concerns about the long term viability of the technology. If I remember right, the network would get congested pretty easily. That plus Musk had me shying away, but if there is an alternative…
I think the community subscription model in the article fixes this (imperfectly). [email protected] can have strict rules while [email protected] could subscribe to it and pancakepurists could subscribe back with the understanding that the rules are slightly different there. [email protected] could similarly link to both those without either having to be mutually interactive.
I think the problem comes from some increased moderation loads by allowing a community to follow another. If I were to put on my paranoid hat it could be used to monitor and brigade a community. I think the solution for that is moderation tools. Banning instances, federation etc. I’m not a mod anywhere so I don’t know what is possible.
Personally I think proposal 2 and 3 should happen concurrently. Using the example in the post I would setup a custom feed (that can hopefully consolidate cross posts) for breakfast. I would put [email protected] which subscribes to [email protected] I can also add [email protected] and [email protected]. so when someone posts about the best homemade peanut butter syrup recipe that is cross posted to my pancake and waffle communities, I don’t get 4 posts about it, I can see it once and choose where to reply (pancakes obviously, I’m a waffle purist).
Community interlinking/subscription fixes a slightly different problem than custom feeds IMO. It’s a really good idea, but I would personally still want custom feeds (with the ability to handle crossposts in a customizable way).
I used to have an old beige box router with dual nics. It would hum me to sleep at night … I still have a box of wrt routers, you know, just in case someone needs one.
Looking at the other pictures, it definitely looks like some sort of spray…
Its bioengineered, no way he would go for it. Only organic brainworms for our homeopath in chief.
One could make the argument that they didn’t do their due diligence and rushed out funds without proper oversight. Honestly it doesn’t sound great rushing out that amount of money (IF true), but with the backdrop of what was coming, it is obvious WHY they rushed.
Really, the accusation of corruption is comical given this administration’s actions.
Per NATO rules, Ukraine was not eligible to join due to the 2014 invasion by Russia as that was considered a border dispute. Prior to that they weren’t really trying due to Russian influence/ corruption of Yanakovich etc.
As far as avoiding the conflict, Obama absolutely should have taken a harder stance on Crimea and Donbas. Before that Bush should have taken a harder stance against the Russian invasion of Georgia. They were essentially taking an appeasement approach and trying not to get pulled into war with Russia.
Hell yeah. I might have gone with Everglade but I’m just glad L7 is represented.
