If there only was a solution to that in this decentral and federated platform…

Just switch instances, folks. I like .ee; there’s lots of other good ones, too
Export your user data, find a different instance, and hop over there.
It’s practically effortless to change instances these days.
And you can keep your old account!
Or you could have an account on literally every instance, like blaze.
What would change practically if I switched instances, like how would my day to day be different? I honestly do not know much about the fediverse.
The list of blocked instances might changed (check [myinstancena.me]/instances) and blocked users. Not every instances shows downvote. This make the all feed slighty different.
Your local feed will change a lot. In there you only see your instances community slrpnk.net is slorpunk oriented, feddit.it is italian speaking community and so on. Your subscription feed will remain the same.
The list of possible interface will be different. That’s on web browser but I don’t know it affect application users.
https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/list , sort by active users
Any instance of the top 15 is fine, be aware of .ml and lemmygrad political stances, and that Beehaw runs a very old version of Lemmy
Any instance of the top 16 is fine
FTFY.
To be fair, the top 30 or 40 are pretty solid.
Yes, but don’t go to Jlailu if you don’t speak French
And Feddit.org if you’re not German, unless you don’t mind reading German me_irl content
Or [email protected] being mostly in German
Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to have a German speaking instance, but it may not be for everyone
Where are you located? Seems normal here in Europe
I’m in Europe too. Is not unusable, just a bit slow to charge the pages.
Discuss.Online is really fast for people in the USA. Being in Europe, you might check out sopuli.xyz?
Try deleting all stored browser data for lemmy.world and then log in again.
Lemmy.world is on an old version that still has a bug that makes it accumulate excessive amounts of brower storage and that slows down your browser.
Oh, that’s what people have been mentioning in the last Lemmy dev announcement
Its only really noticable on older accounts. When I deleted it it was like 3GB of data. But I think OPs 2 year old account might be affected.
But it is not a fix all solution.
