I agree, but feel it should be clarified that having bills to pay is not a disqualifier for bootlicking. More a motivator for it, in many cases. “Just doing my job” and all.
“I might get fired if I give a paid item away for free” is a completely reasonable thing for a minimum wage worker to worry about.

I’d wager more people are worried about their loss of income than making the boss an extra 50 cents, though
