Mums biopsy results came back negative. Given what we knew going in, I was expecting that to be the case, but good to have it confirmed.

I got a job after an 11 month job search. I only had 2 interviews in that whole time.

Wow, 2 interviews in 11 months is rough. Last year it took me 5 months, I’d say around 20-30 interviews, and 6 years of experience as a dev. Congrats on the job!

I just got offered a new job after rage quitting a really bad one. I’ll be working with at-risk kids in a group home, basically a low security facility for kids who have either had run-ins with the law and need a second chance or who just don’t have anywhere else to go. I’m excited, for once I feel like I’m going to be doing work that’s actually important and not just making some wealthy idiot wealthier.

Met a cute guy at a bar last night and we talked for a bit. It was really refreshing and took my mind off all the shit that’s been going on.

Changed my name from what some family’s abusive mother gave me, got a job at Amazon, on my way to move out and never see that family again. ✂️👔

I was just about to leave, put my shoes on, and that’s when I remembered that I needed to take out the trash. The good thing is, I remembered that before tying the laces.

Seems like I usually remember everything once the laces have been tied, but this time was different.

Also, setting a pretty low bar for good things, so that anyone can join the conversation. 😀

Dude, that would have been a great start for my day, like, first accomplishment done! Plus it is great coming back home to a “no chore house” as we call it: No garbage to take out, no meal to cook, no toys to be picked up, no laundry to be fold, etc. I absolutely love the feeling of it.

My parents, in their 70s, started receiving a guaranteed income supplement (they’re Canadian). They’re still poor, but finally they can afford the basics of survival without having to work full time.

    It’s such a huge change.

We switched my son’s Pre-K for a number of reasons. Mostly because they didn’t have room for him in the older class (where he belongs), but also because it was kinda trashy, kinda franchisee, and every day we dropped him off he was crying and clinging harder and harder. The new school is just some lady running something out of her house.

A friend asked him what he’s thankful for last night and he said, “My new school” 😭😭

I was lucky with both of my kids. They both started sleeping through the night relatively quick.

Good for you! Now, on to the next parenting challenge, but at least you’ll be getting better sleep.

    I’m sort of dating someone.

2ish weeks ago my parents met another couple at a cocktail party and found out they had a single daughter about my age. In an extremely unsubtle attempt to set us up our families did an escape room together. Honestly, sex and dating have never been important to me. My longest relationship was a couple months long in high school, I went on maybe 3 or 4 dates in college. I went to this escape room thinking I’d make pleasantries for an hour, solve some puzzles and go home. But when I met her she was cute, and smart, and funny, and after we escaped she asked if I wanted to go with her to something else she was doing that day. We ended up spending the whole day together. And again the next weekend. I haven’t “officially” asked her out, or kissed her, or really acknowledged anything about what this is. But I have had so much fun with this badass trapeze-flying, skydiving, engineering, competitive dancing, just-so-cool woman that I can’t stop thinking about when I’ll see her next.

Don’t wait, ask her out. Nothing is worse than an opportunity missed from procrastination, and some girls have short fuses when establishing a romantic foundation with someone.

Asking her out isn’t a binding commitment for a long relationship, but it does bookmark you as an interested party.

He got offered a promotion where leaving, because he decided to leave.

That promotion was always available but only offered when was necessary. They likely were having that labor for free without the promotion and just riding on his goodwill.

That said now the decision is simpler, why would you like to stay where you were not valued for your quality of work?

Yeah the new job can be all kinds of different but is additional experience and OP indicates he loves the move. To me, this is an easy one.
