Tankies welcome
Feel free to share your educated and polite opinion.
Within reason, of course. The strict rules of MoG still apply, but so long as you are fair, respectful and truthful, you shouldn’t have to worry about these.
When arguing your points, try to aim for quality over quantity–no one will sift through Gish gallop. Try to keep your sources at 3 points. When sourcing your material, you should use MBFC and link sources with High-to-Very High in Factual Reporting.
Don’t be ashamed or cautious about linking your main account. It’ll allow others to see if you’re arguing in good faith.
You can insult others but expect to be insulted or banned in return. If you want to convince people, try to be polite and understanding and attempt to find an agreement before a disagreement.
Try to avoid voting. It muddies discussion. This goes for non-tankies too.
Follow the rules.
Some rules are leaner here. You still cannot justify atrocities, but you can celebrate and encourage good things that communist states have put forth, whether it’s art, technology, or sociological progress.
Just as a refresher of these rules:
Sh.itjust.works Instance rules apply! If you are from other instances, please be mindful of the rules.
Hate-Speech – You should be familiar with this one already; practically all instances have the same rules on hate speech.
Apologia – (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism or any variation of Tankie Ideology. There is no justifying Genocide.
Revisionism – Downplaying or denying atrocities past and present will result in an immediate ban.
Bans typically only last seven days, but repeat infractions will have longer sentences. You may ask to be unbanned.
So, please! Talk about your woes on our world and its diverse societies.
hey (:
(here’s a challenge, try to make your arguments without mentioning the US)
Because I want to see what you post to determine if you’re here in “Good faith”
I pick by what’s said on Hexbear. Okay, let’s go with Hamas then, it’s all the same flavour of “let’s kill jews and gays”
As am I.
Have a look through the thread or the numerous others across this community. Supporting Hamas, supporting Houthis and supporting the Palestine and Gaza governments means that you are intrinsically anti-LGBTQ; all of these groups have documented and recorded human rights abuses towards LGBTQ, often executing them in the street, which I’d love to show you if you can handle watching a beheading. You can feel pity for their civilians, which I certainly do, but know that you speak from Western Privilege and that your sympathy will not be returned to you, and if you’re queer, you deserve to be killed. I don’t support the killers of queer sisters, brothers and enbies.
As for anti-semitism, what do you think Hamas, Houthis, and other Middle Eastern Jihadists want? Answer; the complete eradication of the Jews. This isn’t hyperbole either, it’s literally on their flags. There’s also plenty of Stalin praise and celebrating the atrocities of the Soviet Union under Stalin’s reign, which gulags Jews and Queers alike. Same dealio, you support them, you’re again intrinsically anti-LGBTQ and anti-semitic as those are the values that these groups stand by.
If you, a Westerner, separate the good from the bad of (Terrorist organisations and Authoritarian regimes) something you’re not even a part of and are frankly unaffected by, then you are disingenuous.
Yes, there is. There’s plenty of examples of Hexbear’s hate-speech documented across this community.
Conspiracies like denying genocides, others are more generic, like implying 9/11 was fake.
These rules are fair for everyone. You will be banned if you say hateful, bigoted things, deny documented historical facts, or try to celebrate and justify atrocities and genocide. You may discuss your opinions, share your criticisms of this community, or talk about communism and capitalism as much as you want. Just know that I’d be banned if I tried to do the same in your community.
