Will AI be marked as AI?
There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about how federated services work. Everything you do on Lemmy is broadcast to the world. Anybody who wants to can follow/subscribe to any account or community on Lemmy and the server hosting that account or community will send every post and every comment to the subscriber’s server as soon as it’s posted.
The software they’re running doesn’t have to be Lemmy and doesn’t need to be very visible to end users. Admins who are looking for that kind of behavior might notice if the data harvester wasn’t trying to hide their activity, but even a modicum of effort would be sufficient to go unnoticed. They’d just look like any other self-hosted or single-user server running Mastodon, Pleroma, Misskey, etc…
