I admit that KDE Plasma is super customizable and looks great but I just cannot get over the Windows-style taskbar and Start button.
Please make something that is unique to Linux (I know, easier said than done).
@mmababes @kde When I was selecting my DE, I immediately discarded anything taskbar-based. It was shocking how little was left, it’s pretty much #gnome or a tiling window manager like #sway or #hyprland.
You’re looking for GNOME.
Why? Taskbars" (really “panels” - “taskbars” are something else) in Plasma can be moved, removed, doubled up, made longer, shorter, wider, thinner… You can configure them any which way you want, or not at all and do away with them altogether.
The user said that despite the customizability of Plasma, they are looking for something unique, hence why I recommended GNOME for that expectation.
It’s important to remember that although Plasma can be customized to any whim, not every user has the patience to do so.
