The ICJ decision gave new strength to South Africa’s groundbreaking accomplishment — demolishing the taboo against holding Israel accountable for its crimes. As South Africa’s foreign ministry put it, “Today marks a decisive victory for the international rule of law and a significant milestone in the search for justice for the Palestinian people.”

This will do nothing as America doesn’t recognize the ICC or any courts that can find an American guilty abroad.

Its allies do though, as does their population. This is a big blow against Israeli and US public image.

The ICJ didn’t rule Israel’s action as a genocide, however, they were put on notice. Not a win for Israel, but not a loss for Israel either. Biden’s dilemma has more to do with 50/50 split support toward Israel, and with generational gap toward Israel. He continues supporting Israel unconditionally, he might lose the election, and same if he didn’t.

The ICJ has not made a final ruling on whether Israel is committing genocide, and it could take years to reach a decision. However, it said some of South Africa’s arguments are plausible enough for a case and has ordered Israel to take “all measures within its power” to prevent genocide — including refraining from killing or causing harm to Palestinians, preventing and punishing incitement to genocide, and taking immediate action to allow basic aid to Gaza. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/icj-israel-committing-genocide-gaza/
