but I never expected Nvidia to drop the price with the release of the RTX 4080 Super. The updated model, which will replace the RTX 4080 that released at $1,200, is arriving for $1,000.
Everyone during 2023:
NVIDIA has gone absolutely bonkers, if they think we can afford a non-entry-level GPU sold at over 500 bucks. I’ll hold on for now.

not an exact match but at $320 on amazon for an arc a770 the rtx4080 at $1,000 still seems overpriced
Not when you compare the actual performance.

Performance is more complicated than that, but nvidia has always had real world performance that punched above the flop to flop comparison with AMD. Those are not the same class of card.
