So not only is the Trump comparison apt, its actually way deeper because his job is not to be funny or good, its to be broadly marketable to people with low standards using repeatable catchphrases that you can print on hats and coffee mugs.
Oh yeah, of course I know that Jim Davis has only ever been in it for the money (which is kind of funny ngl), but I’m a person with low standards who’s autisticly latched onto Garfield as my special interest and I quite like Garfield ngl.

Funniest Trump bit was when he went to East Palestine, Ohio after the train crash and announced he’d buy everyone there McDonald’s on the house and got a large round of applause, bought himself a big Mac and then left without buying anything for anyone else.
