A limited history of Trump’s expansion of presidential powers includes:

  • The unilateral capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Máduro and deadly U.S. military strikes on suspected drug-running boats off that nation’s coast, as well as a threat to acquire Greenland.
  • The targeting of Democratic-led cities with federal immigration agents — most recently Minneapolis — and National Guard troops.
  • The threat to cut congressionally approved funding from institutions, including universities, that do not align with the administration’s ideology.
  • The prosecution of political opponents and attacks on the free press.

Those actions and others, coupled with a cooperative GOP Congress, have created an unprecedented shift away from the United States’ democratic tradition and founding principles that establish a system of checks and balances, States Newsroom was told in extensive interviews over recent months.

I find it funny how it’s been a couple of days that we are seeing “this is the last straw” articles.

There shouldn’t be a “last straw” because in a normal functioning country, the first straw would have gotten him in prison for high treason.

And that first straw is not even from the last year.

America, you fucking elected a child rapist that 5 years ago orchestrated an insurrection and even publicly rooted for the people that invaded the capitol!

Yep it’s pretty fucking tragic. Every day I genuinely fail to understand how he’s not in prison and so many people just push and enable all of his worst impulses.

That alarm has been going off for about 11 1/2 months now. It’s just that the media, the politicians and the angry, stupid Trump supporters have been ignoring it.

sorry. yeah. alarmed would be more correct. I was actually thinking about it because like chenney they went under an expanded executive authority doctrine. This type of thing is where they want more authority so they look through the law for interpretations and strategies to do what they want. Trump just wants it and does it and then with any legal battle goes. uh ah. I can totally do that. I think its blown away even the craziest facist types with how effectively its worked.
