I was put off by the fact that you have to make an account on Ravelry to see anything, which is why it took me so long to start using it.
But it really is the best archive of patterns and advice for literally everyone. It’s community-driven with I don’t even know how many folks sharing patterns for free, with whole active forums to ask any question, and ways to organize favorites.
I know I sound like a shill. I just fucking love ravelry.
I also put off signing up but I will give it a go.
I’m still put off that I have to create an account. Maybe I’ll change my mind in the future
Yeah, that part sucks, I wish you could at least get a preview. I heard it was to block AI scrapers, but don’t know for sure.
Didn’t they have this requirement already long before AI became prevalent?
Yes, the login requirement was added after alt-right people started harrassing others on it.
I’m not sure, I joined after AI became a thing and only because a friend showed me what it was like on “the other side.”
I’ll create an account the next time I’m looking for a pattern!
