    Oxfam noted that less than 3.5 percent of EU billionaires’ combined wealth – roughly €84 billion – would be sufficient to eradicate extreme poverty globally. Oxfam identifies a key problem in Europe in the disproportionate influence of wealthy individuals on lobbying. As a result, affluent actors can shape political decisions in their favour in ways that poorer segments of society cannot.

    Gee whiz, I love it when an institute that’s being funded directly by capital interests regurgitates popular liberal narratives and calls it “groundbreaking research”.

    It sure is very convenient that it’s always the fault of some evil nation state or evil individualized billionaires instead of being tendency of capital, a way to manage rising crisis of profitability for one example.
