    Thanks, I was looking into this as well when you commented.

    I think the second comment was sarcastic, and JP spent years in post production for the effects. Laura Dern might very well have been 23 the day they started filming.

    Edit: should have said I thought it spent a long time in post. Guess not.

      It really wasn’t unusually long in post.

      After 25 months of pre-production, filming began on August 24, 1992, at Olokele Canyon.

      Jurassic Park premiered at the Uptown Theater in Washington, D.C. on June 9, 1993, in support of two children’s charities.

      It was a lot of work from multiple teams, but less than a year from starting filming to theatrical release.
