It turns out that for a long time if anyone tried to make an account on altmedia.house they would press the button to ‘sign up’ but then the email verification email would fail to be delivered to their inbox. Further, they were not able to sign up with the same email again, because of duplicate emails or request that email verification be resent.
That should all be fixed now.
I’ve also, out of necessity, added a registration questionnaire to filter out some of the spammers, trolls, and bad actors that might sign up.
So the way the flow works is that (1) you sign up, (2) you confirm your email, (3) I accept the application, and (4) you can log in. Please check your spam filter for email from AltMedia. It’s likely in there.
If anyone had previously tried to make an account and got stuck, I’ve purged the system of your original login attempt so you are free to sign up again.
Thank you for your patience.

I think it’s because duckduckgo is very strict with who they accept emails from. I think I fixed it though. Can you try again via the sign up form?
“user already exists.” Will you please delete me so I can start over? I already deleted my old password
try again? (should have gotten rid of that old username)
I messed up the captcha and it says user already exists. Can you please delete any and all of my data and I will on my end and try again.
Ok. I may have fixed it now. please try one more time…
