Yeah pretty much that. A bad song that was written with daddy’s money, recorded with daddy’s money, filmed with daddy’s money, distributed with daddy’s money, that’s the impression it left. And it was being blasted in our faces everywhere.
As a very mediocre (then-professional and not making much money) musician it left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Granted some of it was jealousy, because I was in one of the ten top groups in the world in my genre and still no one who didn’t play in our genre locally knew who we were. Shit, if just one of our songs could get that kind of airtime… Anyways. I’ve moved on to smaller and better things.
