Scene with Jesus on the cross. A MAGA person wearing a thin blue line flag shirt pointing at Jesus saying “He should have just obeyed the law!”
“I like your Christ, I do not like your christians. Your christians are so unlike your Christ.”

Nothing more un-Christian than US-style Christianity
I’m consistently surprised at how they seem to do and believe the exact opposite of what they are supposed to.
It’s called Christian Nationalism and isn’t limited to the US, neither do all US Christians fall under this category
This, but unironically, Jesus was essentially mocked by the cops on the cross. So this type of behavior was covered rather clearly and counter indicated.
Two others also, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him. When they came to the place that is called The Skull, they crucified Jesus there with the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." And they cast lots to divide his clothing. And the people stood by, watching; but the leaders scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Messiahc of God, his chosen one!” The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine, and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!” There was also an inscription over him, “This is the King of the Jews.”
From Luke 32
“Multiple pastors tell me, essentially, the same story about quoting the Sermon on the Mount, parenthetically, in their preaching—‘turn the other cheek’—[and] to have someone come up after to say, ‘Where did you get those liberal talking points?’” Moore said.
“When the pastor would say, ‘I’m literally quoting Jesus Christ’ … The response would be, 'Yes, but that doesn’t work anymore. That’s weak,”
extreme radical lunatic left winger.
i always wondered why jesus never used his god powers to get off the cross, but then i realized he’s like a vampire, but instead of a stake through the heart it’s nails through the hands
The entire purpose of Jesus being born and living was to choose to willingly die on the cross so he could take on humanities sins. Without his death, there would be no Christianity.
Please stop making him sound cool
He never used his powers for his own benefit, neither for his material advantage nor to show off or get out of bad situations. He only used his power to help others. That’s at least a more reasonable and in character reading than yours.
The idea is that he could have, but it was through his suffering that mankind would be saved. I’m not a believer but from a literary perspective, the story is that if he saved himself, all humanity would suffer. His human nature wanted to survive and avoid suffering but to do so would go against God’s will and humanity would not be absolved of sin. He overcame his human nature to embrace the will of God. Hence his prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will”
By the way, the nails actually go through the wrists in crucifixion, between the bones (radius and ulna). If you put the nails through the palms like they so often show, the weight of the body would just make them rip through the meat of the hands between the fingers.
Because the whole point was that he was sent to die for humanity’s sins.
This is actually brought up in the bible, oddly enough:
And the people stood by, watching; but the leaders scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Messiahc of God, his chosen one!” The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine, and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!” There was also an inscription over him, “This is the King of the Jews.”
If he got off the cross how would he forgive people for killing him and for breaking the crazy rules he himself set up earlier? Like, have ever tried forgiving someone without being born as another person, making them angry and letting them kill you first? It’s impossible.
