Yeah man, we really generated a lot of waste during that last hunt. Productivity is falling, profits are nowhere to be seen. And the shareholders? They don’t even exist yet, but we still have a fiduciary responsibility to bring next months hunt into the black. We are so proud of our team members!

Fuck I knew that might happen. Let’s cut the workforce by 50% to make our Q2 numbers look stellar. Don’t worry, we’ll hire a bunch of college grads as contractors, and pay them peanuts, since money doesn’t exist yet. Since they are not actually employees, we don’t have to provide any benefits!
I had dreams of becoming a physicist because I was inspired early in life to learn about the world and add to human knowledge. I absorbed all I could about the universe and how everything works, I even got as far as placing into advanced classes in a local college, which I was getting 100% scores on… and like with nearly everything else I pursued in life, I had to quit because I had to pay for food and shelter in a crashing economy and lack of opportunities.
I don’t remember a thing that I had learned, I still listen to science documentaries to fall asleep to. I have cycled through the corporate world several times over, lost everything, started over. Nothing gained, I am basically back to start, struggling for even less pay with fewer assets and absolutely no hope of continuing higher education.
I do think about how far I could have taken my ideas I had when I was younger, and what I could have added to our world if I were lucky enough to have been born into a life of generational wealth or been willing to compromise my morals to get ahead.
I knew a woman wants who thought, completely seriously, that there were no businesses before capitalism. Like you couldn’t sell stuff. No Merchants I guess. I don’t even understand how she thought the world worked for thousands and thousands of years.
Aliens brought them capitalism. It’s why they invented the wheel.

I said nothing even close to what you are falsely suggesting that I did- and I’d bet you anything I possess that you couldn’t even find an actual pro-capitalism stance in ANY of my interactions there on lemmy.

I simply said that communism and socialism are also flawed, therefore there’s not a lot of motivation to change it. Also, many of you seem to not understand the absolute HELL that comes with swapping out a system of government and socio-economic ideology.

If you want an alternative, try Market Socialism. All the benefits of a market economy without the capitalist exploitation. Equating socialism with Soviet style command economies is a smooth-brained take.
