It doesn’t impact the contents of your drive but I would certainly back everything up and be prepared to start from scratch. When I did it I had to get a programmer, disassemble the computer, and hook up wires straight to the coprocessor. Not for the faint of heart

I’ve done one before, it was an involved process but doable with the right tools. I think it’s easier on the T480s than the older thinkpads though
