I know it’s better in theory than Reddit but maaaaan it’s so lonely here sometimes! So many communities are just a ghost town. It’s so bad that I (normally a lurker) am motivated enough to get out of my cave and post. We need more active text only post subs cause I’m just soo sick of news links :/ we also need more active friend making subs fr.

Sometimes it’s nice. Like it takes much less effort to reach the front page of a community than a subreddit. But other times you write all this text and only a few people comment, and you just feel the crickets :/. Now i know how my online zoom teachers feel when they say “unmute your mic” and noone does
I tried posting some stuff for a niche comm a while back. A bunch of upvotes, but no conversation or meaningful comments.
Meanwhile, I post something similar on a niche subreddit and get some great comments, encouragement, and friendly chit-chat. I wish we had that here.
