Reminds me how a couple months ago SCOTUS decided that federal government paying states for SNAP was irreparable harm, and people dying from hunger wasn’t. It shows the logic underlying both fascism and capitalism quite clearly.
Oddly Japan, the country with the most infamous work culture ever, seems to have a cultural tendency for company leaders to take pay cuts when times are tough.
I think honor and responsibility are pretty important in their culture too, so the CEOs probably feel like they actually need to take responsibility there as opposed to everywhere else where they feel entitled to more money simply because they exist.
