The west used coal and oil far into the years that we knew it was harmful. When India and Chine used coal to catch up, we, the west wanted to stop them, whilst still burning fossil fuels like ours didn’t cause problems. We’ve now been caught up and are about to be overtaken. I suspect that in 10 years, we’ll be the ones creating ongoing CO2 and related problems. (Based upon roll backs to various Western global warming and emissions targets).
