Jan 6 working would have had a whole lot of consequences beyond just leaving Trump in power. I’m glad it failed.

If Trump has won the election, the world would have been significantly worse in 2020 than it was, but not nearly as bad as 2024. Democrats would have swept 2022 and would have been in a great position by 2024, and the corporate establishment would have a weakened hold on the party after the failure of Biden.

The Democrats now know that the 2028 election will be 100% a referendum on the Trump presidency, no matter who the Democratic candidate is. They are going to try to force in an absolute piece of shit like Newsom, and it will probably work just as well as Biden did. I can’t wait for the Vance/Miller presidency in 2032. That will be great.

If a corporate Dem wins the 2028 primary, America is over. The general election will be irrelevant.

We won’t, but the cheating won’t be enough to save the Republicans from themselves. We don’t even get real primaries from the Democrats, so I don’t understand why you think we might get a fair general election.

Dunno exactly what you mean but I think it really depends, and one of the things it depends on is how violent things get and in what way. Also I said “somewhat real” not “fair”.

That’s fair. Sorry I changed your words.

The polling is an absolute disaster for Republicans, and a greater than usual number of House Republicans have announced they aren’t running again. Even with all the voter suppression and fingers on the scales, they can’t make up those margins. Almost all the special elections have gone Democratic too, even in Trump areas.

Vesesuela might have helped Trump a bit with (some) Hispanics, but it’s going to drive his numbers down with everyone else.
