It’s voxel based, but definitely nothing like Minecraft. If you’re looking for something similar to Minecraft that isn’t just a clone of it you could try Vintage Story. It’s closer to the Terra Firma Craft mod for Minecraft than the unmodded game.
I would still recommend trying Veloren as it is fun. Just don’t expect it to be anything like Minecraft.

Nope that’s Luanti (formerly Minetest). This one is written from scratch.
When I went to look up the gane I accidentally typed verloren.net instead of veloren.bet and got a weird German website about the author losing something so that explains it

Never heard of Veloren. Looks like everyting CubeWorld was supposed to be but never delivered on.
Only downside I see is no server download to run your own.
Veloren is FOSS and volunteer-developed so running your own server can’t be too hard
Velorens repository has a
server-clifolder with docker files, seems like a good place to start looking ^^https://book.veloren.net/players/server-hosting/introduction.html
there is documentation for it so I assume it is possible
I think you need to get a Phoenix feather to craft it, and despite playing enough to get endgame equipment, I only ever ran into one.
