It’s all nice to trade more with India (btw the largest oil products provider of Ukraine), but EU would have more leverage with Russia if it purchased its oil directly from it instead of through Indian intermediaries.

sanctions on russia are leverage, if russia wants to come back and make money again it is free to simply leave ukraine, easy
Russia makes money from India. India marks up more from Europe. Why would Russia sell surplus to India below EU’s price cap? Not that better relations with Russia isn’t a massive benefit to EU, but the performative reimporting from India is next level dumb bs.
