I mean i can accept that switching to Mastadon is a bridge too far for them, but why the hell all these officials, politics, journalists etc are still on the service formerly known as twitter really is beyond me.

Is it? Shouldn’t the government run a Mastodon server that is reserved for Members of Parliament that at the very least mirrors their shite posted elsewhere, just to make it easily accessible for constituents to see without needing to give their data away to US big tech?

Bluesky exists. It’s effectively what Twitter was before that tit bought it. There’s no excuse for still being on whatever letter of the alphabet Twitter is called now.

It’s simple: it has a huge audience. You want to get your message across to as many people as possible, that’s the place to do it.

It sucks, because something like Mastodon would be perfect, but it would be like shouting into the wind.

Yeah Bluesky has 600k posters a day (and it’s been slowly declining). X has hundreds of millions of posters, literally two or three orders of magnitude more. It’s really sad that people can’t change their habits.

if people migrate to bluesky, it will be as shit as Twitter/X.

Twitter was trash way before Musk bought it.
