I think the insane number of applicants is still pretty telling of how bad things have gotten.
Having done some IT work for my company’s HR department, its definitely a bad sign. But it’s more indicative of the volume of spam these open listings receive daily. We’re straight past looking at jobs that don’t come with human referrals anymore, because there sheer volume of fake accounts and resumes is debilitating.
