I thought Walt Disney was fascist from the start, or at least racist (the person, not the company). They are just carrying on his legacy

      Racist yes.

      But the fascism was, complicated.

He was at least anti-Nazi. But only specifically the German Nazis.

He worked closely with Joseph McCarthy in the 50s, and had been a member of the American Nazi party in the 30s.

Zootopia 2 is one of the most leftist Disney movies ever with.

They have cops that are portrayed as the bad guys that are literal pigs.

    It’s against racism.

    It’s against the rich.

Violence was part of the solution to dealing with corruption.

There’s a whole anti-colonization allegory that could be applied to what’s been happening with Israel and Palestine.

Also why is the police fox shown saluting someone?

Is this a US thing? Because police officers in the UK don’t salute eachother.

Saluting was done to show respect to the officer class who literally came from the upper classes of society, not the working class that the rank and file come from.

Because the metropolitan police forces were founded in the UK as a working class organisation they don’t salute eachother to show respect to ranks above them, they only stand to attention.

it’s a copaganda thing first and foremost. it helps normalize the imagery of a militarized police state

Yeah, fuck that noise. The whole idea of policing is that it’s done by consent of the public being policed.

Depending on where you sit on the Anarchy - Authority spectrum, what “policing by consent” ideally looks like is very different, but the one thing the overwhelming majority of those on that spectrum (excluding the extremes on each end) is that civilian policing is not done by the (para)military.

So yeah, cops should not be saluting anyone and media depictions of them shouldn’t be showing that either.

    (Spoilers, I guess)

Except Jake repeatedly exposes corruption in the rich and powerful? Like, ACAB, but the story would be mostly the same even without the uniform.

Is actually pretty decent portrayal of most of the cops in that movie.

        Spoilers

The bunny and fox are being chased by the cops for most of the movie.

They’re being ostracized for being good cops, and the fraternity it’s trying to force them out.

Later, the cops are following the mayor, who is a billionaire’s puppet.

The unrealistic part only comes at the end where the mayor grows a pair and stops listening to the billionaire, and that the cops change their minds about the bunny and fox instead of just killing then in a traffic stop.

But giving a good guy a uniform is copaganda. The problem isn’t the system but a few evil individuals, most of them happen to be of Jewish descent, and the state is here to save us. That’s fascist ideology.

Your nullified your whole comment with that “Jewish descent” crap. That’s just another of the many methods used to divide the populace & keep them from uniting against the puppeteers, and you seem to have fallen for it.

The problem isn’t the system but a few evil individuals

Robin Hood had that too. That’s pretty much a staple of children’s stories.

most of them happen to be of Jewish descent

That’s quite the stretch. Are you basing this solely on (some of) the voice actors? Because that’s just a bit weird.

and the state is here to save us

If anything, both emphatically show that heroes do good even when the system/state is literally hunting them down.

If you simply can’t accept any media with a cop good guy, that’s fair enough. Your critiques of the story don’t have much merit, though.

Yeah most of Zootopia is about the protagonists realizing that they need to “go rogue” root out the fascist corruption.

Still copaganda, but I don’t feel guilty watching and enjoying them.

Yes, the “y” looks like a “p,” but i hate how this pretends the “D” looks more like a “G” than a “D.” Looking like a backwards G does not count!

My entire life I’ve seen it as more of a G than a D, up until very recently - it just kind of clicked during a movie I was watching a couple months ago. Not sure why it took so long, hah.

Robin Hood is still complicated. He helped invade a foreign land in the crusades prior to his time as a thief for the common folk. That seems a little proto fascist.
