I saw one the other day in person that said ‘Jesus was a refugee’
Was he? I honestly don’t know much about his supposed life. Born in a barn, flipped a table, nailed to a pole is about the extent of his life afaik.
His parents fled to Egypt after Herod ordered the death of all baby boys under 2, and didnt return until after Herod had died.
Definitely would be considered a refugee.
Awesome another fun fact to piss off christo-fash with.
Depends which gospel you reference. In Matthew, Jesus’ family flees to Egypt to escape attempts by the King of Judea (Herod) to have him killed. Luke makes no mention of it, and John and Mark don’t cover Jesus’ childhood. Most scholars do not support the historicity of the gospel’s accounts of Jesus childhood. As an adult, he’s more of an itinerant preacher than a refugee, and the gospels don’t document any attempts to flee once he’s in trouble with the law.
This is such a bad view. Im not religious in the slightest but as a story book character Jesus was a cool dude.
Matthew 10:34-39: Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law – a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’ Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
Sounds like a narcissist
Very much so! This Jesus character is wildly inconsistent.
