There are other ways to get fiber!

But serious- awesome! I’d love to improve my woodworking skills too. What have you made so far?

Oh man, I’ve made dozens of things at this point. Every gift I gave at Christmas this year was at least partially made by me. A couple of nice boxes, a bird feeder, a book shelf, some book stands, and a serving tray. In the last year I’ve made a coffee serving station, a handful of different record displays, key hooks, towel hangars, various tables and shelves, a solo stove ring that has managed to not light on fire yet, a few different bird houses and feeders, and a bunch of other stuff I can’t think of rn.

It’s really the best hobby, I love being surrounded by durable things that I built myself. Getting my daily dose of fiber via one deep breath after forgetting to turn on my dust collector is just a perk.

      What all have you made?

That’s amazing, I want to get to the point where that’s how my gift giving is, wood-based or otherwise.

I made some garden beds, a knife handle, and a bowl (at a lathe class).

I would kill for a lathe. I got to use them in shop in high school, but no room for one in my single car garage shop lol. It’s a super rewarding hobby if you can stomach doing an absurd amount of sanding.
