Explanation From Original OP:

Context: In 1936 Australia, the Bureau of Sugar Experiment Stations successfully imported 2,400 cane toads to get rid of cane beetles which were ruining crops of sugar cane. As it turned out, the cane toads weren’t able to reach the cane beetles… but could eat literally everything else, while being poisonous enough to give predators a heart attack. And they reproduce fast and in large numbers.

There are currently 200,000,000 cane toads in Australia, and they’re spreading. There’s no way to halt the swarm beyond just killing toads on sight. The ecosystem has been basically ruined.
