Update post by Bandwagon.fm, a federated music platform, about their new data migration feature, 2025 highlights and the roadmap for 2026.
Bandwagon.fm is a great project, but unfortunately, ActivityPub/Federation is not yet reliably implemented and has too many bugs.
For example, if you follow a Pixelfed account and then unfollow, the follow remains on Pixelfed!
In my opinion, the ActivityPub part of bandwagon.fm is unfortunately not yet production-ready and should be tested and fixed more thoroughly.
As with all fediverse projects, testing happens in public and Bandwagon is definitely at the testing stage. While I don’t like their planned premium features, I think it’s good that there’s something new happening in the federated music space besides Funkwhale.
