Tutanota has, to my knowledge, never complied with French law enforcement and put people in jail. Hapless radlib climate activists, by the way. People who were just stupid kids. Now they’re gonna rot in prison.

Admitting you don’t really care is free, and so is being more serious.

I don’t know what you mean about rotting in prison, the linked article says their proton accounts were disabled for a month or so. I’m not saying I support that, but I’d also like to know if there’s really something that much more nefarious that happened.

There are no perfectly ethical choices in capitalism. I’m sure Tuta has or will have something to object to on some level. I feel the best thing I can do is make the best choices and impact I can, and to me getting a dozen people to leave Google for Proton is still better than getting one person to leave Google for Tuta.

I was referring to the first major incident about Proton that got reported. They have statistics about their law enforcement compliance published now. Didn’t check the other posted article. At the time people acted like a dealbreaker, but the shills have beaten you into compliance due to your pathetic need for validation. Frankly, whatever light I shine in here is my mistake. Westoids don’t deserve clarification on anything. What awaits you is confusion, darkness, and trust in those who hurt you.

They also use the same shady tactic as Discord, asking for phone number verification after some time has passed when you sign-up via email. This is in order to expand how much metadata they collect. You are using more CIA dogshit. Have fun.
