One day, I’ll find just the right cage to wear as close to 24/7 as life will let me. It’s not just the denial or whatever, it’s also that they’re just really cool and fun to wear. Insert the Marge Simpson meme, “I just think they’re neat”. Other people like to wear other things to be comfy, I like to wear cages and collars :3

Yea me too but sadly all I find is kinky cages with keys and locks, I wish there was a simple mechanism to prevent erections and look cute and hide that as much as possible, not resalt it

Well, now you’ve piqued my curiosity. Show me a good starter model for someone new to cages (I’ve always wanted to try one). I’m sure my wife would love seeing me restrained.

        The most important factors are:

        • Ring size (sometimes there are multiple included, often you can choose one)
        • Length
        • Width
        • Distance between ring and cage

Good sites/stores/shops tell you all of that, or at least have pics good enough to estimate that.

All of those things are highly individual from person/cock to person/cock, and from usecase to usecase. Eg. I have flat/inverted cages, spiked cages, and cages with dilator I only wear on short term (< 1 day), while I have an average (slightly longer than my flaccid cock) metal cage for longterm (weeks/months). For more info on measurements on length, width and rig size, look at https://lockthecock.com/blogs/chastity-fun/measuring.

I’d suggest getting cheaper plastic cages (~10-20€) at first, to really check out the measurements, and specifically the distance between the ring and cage (some cage designs allow for variable spacers in between, most casual metal cages don’t), as well as how you want your locking mechanism and ring shape to be (curved or flat, round or oval). When you got a cage you can wear for days/weeks, look for a similarly sized and shaped cage in either high quality (better finishing, no rough surfaces, edges etc.) plastic, or metal.

I’m currently wearing a rather cheap metal cage from Amazon (https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B0BXSQD553), 45mm ring iirc, yet it fits like a cat in a box and is very comfy. Perfect ring fit, distance, and size, curved oval ring. Very little pain on erection.

For long term, take it off every few days or so, when it starts to hurt. Use lotion. Your skin will get used to it. Also, for long term wearing, try to restrain yourself from making yourself horny. For short term wearing, that pain from a small cage, maybe spikes, while your partner teases you is hot, in long term bruises on your cock are often annoying/painful and a bit scary. Don’t shave under the ring spontaneously, as soon as it grows it feels like shit and burns a bit. So either never shave/shave to 1 cm or so, or regularly trim it (every other day or so).
Also, get a cage with a good opening at the front. The one I’m wearing has many little bars block and spraying piss. Cages with just one slit can be better in that regard, but are harder to clean then. I usually resort to first arranging my clit. Being cut is a very good help there.

TL;DR: Try different cheap cages from Ebay or your local shop (tho that might be more expensive) and get a HQ/metal version when you’ve found a good fit.

Also, gonna tag @[email protected] for no particular reason >:3

I was always concerned about restriction and urination, so thank you for replying. I’m loving the idea of getting something basic and adjustable, then moving to a better one when I find a comfortable fit. I wasn’t sure how long you can wear them, then you tell me days and weeks? I’m now actively shopping for one.

Wearing length is also depending on the cage type and your body.

Normal, comfy cage? Most can, after some training, wear them basically indefinitely (physically, actually doing that mentally requires either a lot of dedication, a lot of satisfaction from it (eg. to help with bottom disphoria), or a very stern dom :3). There’s a whole subreddit about that, r/permanentchastity.
Flat or small cages often require that you don’t get hard often, especially rockhard. So often, you’ll see people taking Estrogen actually wear them casually. Fetish cages, like spiked, are more for short term locking.

Idk what my max is, but as my life is very chaotic, probably not even that long, but very often.

Also, if you have a cage you can clean well, you’ll not even have to take it off that often, maybe let your partner clean it for you at a good cycle (eg. where you notice that you or the cage needs cleaning. With metal cages, also just boil them for a few minutes then.)

Do you mind if I ask why a cage helps with bottom dysphoria? I’ve been seeing a lot of cage-related content on lemmy, and I’m not sure I understand why they’re so popular.

I mean, wouldn’t I want something that keeps me tucked all the time, rather than something that prevents me from tucking?

You can wear a cage all the time, and it does for some reason feel like it’s not there anymore for me then. Or at least doesn’t feel like a dick. And idk about tucking, I’d guess it’s not really practical on a daily basis.

It would help with my anxiety about random erections (I still get anxious even though I can’t remember the last time that happened 😅), and I do hate how it makes me feel when people always want me to top.

Maybe I should do some research, see if there’s something like a cage that keeps everything tucked. Or at least smooth enough to wear tighter fitting clothes.
