The move comes after the US seized two tankers transporting Venezuelan oil this month. At an emergency UN meeting requested by Caracas, China and Russia accused the US of "bullying" the South American country.
I’m not exactly a fan of Venezuela, but at this point I just hope they rig a decoy tanker with like 40 underwater torpedo launchers and fibre wire remote pilot it until the US fleet takes the bait. It will just launch 40 torpedoes at once from close range, then turn to ram a destroyer and before the US realizes what’s happening they have sinking aircraft carriers etc for hundreds of billions of dollars.
I don’t want to see what our response would be to that. I’m pretty sure “proportionality” has been thrown out the window, not that we ever knew what that meant if Operation Praying Mantis was considered “proportional.”
Also someone touching our boats is what has gotten us into damn near every war we’ve been in, except for the Civil War, because that was a fort and not a naval base, and that one time we ignored Israel attacking one of our boats.

trump already announced he wants to do land strikes. Venezuela might as well use the element of surprise.
