I don’t know about the studies, but I do know that amphibians are extremely sensitive to chemical changes to the water they live in due to water permeable skin. This makes them susceptible to pollution of every kind.

I also know that hermaphroditism is, if not common, at least possible in frogs. This was a major plot point in the first Jurassic Park.

So if someone said that certain chemicals in water caused a higher rate of hermaphroditism in frogs, I’d likely say, yeah, that tracks.

As for Alex Jones, his instant transition to selling water purifiers was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. The blatant screaming fearmongering followed by an instant ad.
