Cinema owners oppose a megadeal that would see one of the last Hollywood legacy studios snapped up only five years after the demise of 20th Century Fox.
In my country cinemas are already getting closed, because not enough people go. The only time I’ve seen more than half of the seats filled was the Revenge of the Sith 20th anniversary rerun earlier this year. And even then it wasn’t even close to full. Looks like a finished business.
My big issue is that I never see anything showing that I want to see.
I used to just go to a theatre and randomly pick a movie and watch it. There was always some random film playing that I’d never heard of that I could watch.

going to the cinema used to be fun.
now it’s a drag. it’s overpriced, obnoxious ads, and if there are other patrons they are usually being loud and obnoxious ruining the movie.
20 years ago a movie was a cheap quiet thing to do. you could ‘get away’ from everything. there were no ads playing between screenings.

Now there’s just… nothing
Kind of seems like a death spiral
