Anything new you’re picking up? A playthrough you’re finishing up? Playing the new Nightreign DLC? Let us know!
Bloodborne was the first one I played, and I think what helped me the most was to just play and get used to the game in addition to treating loss of blood echoes as unimportant. Sure, especially in the early game, echoes are precious because healing is limited and farming blood vials is annoying. But once I no longer feared losing my echoes and actually got to engage with the game and its mechanics, I had a lot more fun with the game and its exploration. I didn’t stress as much either.
What about you?
I’m currently finishing up my Int/Faith run in Elden Ring. Next weekend I might interrogate if there are other games than Elden Ring.
As for a tip? What I learned was patience, no, perseverance. Try and try again. Getting finally passed the pyre in Bloodborne was an awesome gaming experience.
Souls games are very good in giving you hard, but not insurmountable task.As for an external tip I received? In Soulsborne games, your damage increases the most from weapon upgrades. In other RPGs, I focused more on my character, but in Fromsoft games, it’s crucial to prioritise weapon upgrades first.
DS2. I am in the process of getting all achievements.
As for a tip to newcomers? Prepare to die, obviously.
Elden Ring because I bounced off it the first time (open worlds make me feel tired) but this time I have some good momentum going
Still playing a non-soulslike, Isles of Sea and Sky. Once that’s finished I might get into Code Vein.
My first one was DS3 and there were two lessons that helped me;
One, to let go of souls and stop caring about them. There are always more. It’s not worth the time or stress to pick them up every time, and once you lose them the burden is lifted.
Two, for tough bosses learn their moveset. Don’t attack, just practice dodging and watching them until you understand them better. Then after a few rounds of that, start to attack when you know your openings.
For point 2 definitely go in swinging the first time. Dont stress about dieing and learning yet. It’s the best feeling when you get a new boss first try. And playing defensively or cheeseing just isnt as satisfying.
Yeah that would only apply if you get stuck. The most important rule is to have fun!
Yeah, the real currency is knowledge and opening shortcuts.
Nightreign finally… (Weeee) did a couple of solo runs yesterday to get a feel of it, hopped online and after 2 or 3 attempts got a pretty solid team going and steamrolled the first boss. It’s super fast paced so still adjusting to the rythm and characters. But looking forward to more!
As for a tip… Similar to eezeebee’s comment. Learning not to rush, being patient/ obsrvant pays off. getting to know what “rules” the world and the enemies are laying out for you will make your life easier in the long run.
