The United Kingdom on Tuesday unveiled its reform plans to scrap jury trials for crimes with an expected sentence of less than three years. The measure aims to reduce a “record backlog of cases” in the criminal justice system, which is estimated to rise to 100,000 cases by 2028.

    Exactly. The government can fuck anyone over and there’s nothing the citizens can do because there’s no jury nullification to hold the government in check for unreasonable laws.

      and even reasonable laws once jury is out you are now dependent on a sole judge being fair. I mean look at some of the recent supreme court rulings in the us and that is a group of judges. When it comes to judicial decisions the law is more like suggestions.
