Chris Paul, one of the greatest players in Clippers franchise history, posted an Instagram story a little before 3 a.m. ET Wednesday that he had just learned he was being sent home to Los Angeles from Atlanta.
Seems there must be some falling out for it to be this abrupt but article doesn’t have much info.
The important bit is not that Paul was “sent home”, it is that “he will no longer be with the team”. In other words, he is fired.
The team is not “blaming Chris for [their] underperformance,” so there is likely something else going on. Did the Clippers get tipped off about a controversy involving Paul and want him listed as a “former player” in the news story?
Lots of chatter. One story has it CP3 has become toxic- CP3 was critical of everyone in the org. He was criticizing the players the coaches and front office. Thus the 3 am “sent home” or cut from the team.
