They’re not like the population in western countries who have to be separated from the atrocities our governments have visited on the rest of the world for centuries. We are pure individuals, they are collectively responsible. So Americans can condemn Russian civilians as monsters, while sharing none of the blame for their own democratically elected government committing daily war crimes and atrocities.
