Good intentions don’t change heartless people.
It seems only someone or something that can exceed their heartlessness could defeat them. And it’s like a mind bending hopeful paradox of the possibility that something heartless could be for good… Like the atomic bomb.
If you have ever dealt with real criminals… There is no such thing as “no”. The issues are alive until death, and even after death vengeance still carries on.

I mean, I’m not entirely disagreeing with your cynicism here, but my point is that the intention of this message is towards voters.
And, for that matter, the same electorate that votes is the same that, potentially, revolts. Though I wouldn’t put my hopes high there either.
