i strongly disagree with “just to be safe” justification. fascists use exactly that narrative for scaremongering about minorities, like “all immigrants are dangerous”. the main difference between being cop, or being men, or being immigrant is that you actively choose being a cop, whereas nobody asks you to choose your sex or gender, and nobody provides you a citizenship on arrival to a foreign country
