This is an officially licensed TTRPG set in the GItS: Arise universe. The kickstarter just ended so I’m not trying to convince anyone to back it, I just think it’s impressive that they only wanted ~$11k to fund the project and raised almost $500k. That’s awesome!

I’m glad that cyberpunk is growing in TTRPG space. But does the established setting have enough meat for it to not be “just another cyberpunk TTRPG”?
Edit: I guess my point is: unless I don’t know enough about the setting, I’d love this if they were picking an existing “transhumanist cyberpunk without space travel” ( there are quite a few, I don’t remember the names now) system that fits the vibe/gameiness/narrativeness/w/e they want to get and just fleshed out the setting and slapped on the GitS brand to make the said system more popular
It’s a custom system built using the forged in the dark engine, which is a stellar choice for any game where you play a series of daring missions.
The first game made with that engine - the game that launched the engine - was heavily inspired by Dishonored. Its particular flavour of steampunk is fairly close to cyberpunk.
This is all to say that they made a very good choice with the system - it’s perfectly suited to the setting, well-designed, and powerful and flexible in play.
Well, ok. At least that. I was afraid it’s going to be another Altered Carbon
Edit: I hope they’ll get rid of playbooks in that one
That’s really cool, I didn’t know there was a TTRPG based on Dishonored. Thanks for adding more details for the poor ignorant fools like myself who don’t follow TTRPGs!
Blades in the Dark, it’s called.
The setting is quite different from Dishonoured, though you can see the influence clearly and it’s mentioned by name as a media touchstone.
