Americans have watched the conservatives openly embrace not only fascists, but actual Nazis.
Sure, you can say those people would stayed under their rocks without the push but they’re out in the open now and the fact the bots got them to admit it doesn’t stop that from having happened.
The division will always be there but it takes a special kind of sociopath and a government not working for the people to allow othering or scapegoating to take place.
It really is psychological warfare. Instead of our government protecting us it says, “hold my beer.”
