In other words, who makes the profit here? Did they rip off the Trump without him noticing or did they get ripped off and can’t do anything about it? Is “investing” another way of saying “ASiAnS BuY MuRIcaN ComPnAIEs!!!1!” that is more popular with the maga crowd?

A 90s J70 seemed like a perfect option, but even though I wouldn’t be giving toyota any money this feels wrong now… I wonder what other options even are there; L200 is too small for a camper, anything land rover is so unreliable I won’t dare go overlanding, and good luck finding parts for older american trucks over here (besides, Ford&GM bowed to fascists all the same)

Honest question: Assume that I do in fact need a car. I’ve been driving Toyota since college on account of it hitting pretty much the sweet spot of affordability and reliability. Is there another car company that hits around that same realm that is less morally compromised?
For a new vehicle probably Mazda or Honda.
I’d love to give Ford a chance but the post 2020 reliability has not looked great. I had 07 Escape for 15 years that was an absolute work horse.
