I tried Code Geass as my 1st anime and dropped it 1st episode haha. I didn’t like the OP and the artstyle. Apparently that was enough at the time.
Then I tried SAO (I know), and here I am, 12-13 years later: weeb and still haven’t watched Code Geass.
Just own it bro.
At this point, SAO is overhated. Yes, some parts of the story are mediocre, but you see mediocrity in many other shows and yet they don’t receive the same level of vitriol.
And its peaks are strong enough to contend with other top-tier anime.
True, but the reason for the vitriol is because most mediocre anime aren’t nearly as popular as SAO.
