It really depends on the topic for me. Friend who’s whole world is MTG and can talk about it for days on end? I humor them as long as I can but I am not into deck builders and my mind goes numb. Girlfriend who has enough deep medical knowledge to test right out of a premed program? Incredibly enriching, like listening to a satisfying podcast, sit me in a comfy chair and feed it to my ears. But I always do listen, because I infodump too.
My wife is the same. I create a lot of hot air, so we go with each other like creamy peanut butter and extra crunchy peanut butter.

I get infodumps on a regular basis from my girlfriend but when I start telling her about stuff that I’m interested I usually get some variation of “I don’t want to hear about this right now”. It gets old.
