    Most of these boats, if not all, likely were smugglers. Not like we can judge much from the quick and blurry scenes we catch, but these are fast, light boats, lightly manned, plain packages filling the deck, nothing “fishing” about them. It’s a fair bet the US intelligence apparatus knows exactly what characteristics they’re looking for.

    Instead we should be talking about:

    • Drug running isn’t a capital offense.
    • Even if it was, there’s no due process here.
    • The US military has no authority to prosecute this sort of activity.
    • These strikes blatantly against maritime law.
    • Ignoring ALL of that, is there any reason a US warship could not board them?

      You don’t at all find out suspicious they’re doing it all in the open often during daylight with a method that is losing popularity because they’re often intercepted. It’s why they spend hundreds of thousands on narco subs.
