I enjoyed the article about Mamdani where a bunch of people from the US are calling his plans “extremist” and “radical”, then compared to EU and all his policies are more “you aren’t doing this already?”
I don’t even live in New York, city or state, but I was more excited for his win than my own Mayor, purely out of hope that this might prove we don’t need a bunch of push-over dems trying to please all sides instead of pushing for the changes actually needed.
I’m not surprised at all. It’s like Tom and Jerry. If the cat catches the mouse, the show is over.
The only thing I have any optimism about in US politics right now is Zohran Mamdani. Just enough optimism to wait until he’s mayor before judging him.
